With an underhung motor design, most of the voice coil stays within the magnetic gap for the highest possible control to keep 2nd and 3rd order harmonic distortion at a minimum. The unique whizzer cone with phase plug design allows for better dispersion while increasing high frequency response. This driver is ideally suited for small single driver speaker systems with incredibly smooth and full sound. Aluminum phase plug also acts as a shorting ring for lower distortion.
