The klark teknik DN800 is an analog crossover with many configurations possible. Not as easy to tweak as just turning a knob. The advantage to card based crossovers is that there is very little drift or error in the set crossover frequencies as you can get with pots and the silk screening on the front panels. Suitable for recordings studios and fixed installations it can be configured for various system setups including four- input two-way or two- input 3/4 way systems. The DN800 is known for it’s high quality sound flexibility and precision frequency selection throughout plug-in cards. Here’s a more detailed breakdown. The DN800 can be used as a four-input, two-way crossover or a two-input, three or four-way crossover. Plug-in cards are used to set the filter frequency and slope characteristics. Each band has an adjustable VCA limiter, with time constants optimized for the frequency range. Plug-in filter cards offer selectable slopes (12, 18, or 24 dB/octave) and responses (Linkwitz-Riley, Butterworth, or Bessel). The DN800 includes phase adjustment controls for fine-tuning between bands and a phase reverse switch for each output. Are time aligned for accurate phase response. Includes balanced XLR connections, driver protection circuits & level, high and low frequency eq controls. I’ve owned these for 10 years and they’ve been amazing to use. Sad to see them go. Collection only from Wantage/Oxford. These were serviced last year and are fully working. The relays for the driver protection circuit could probably do with replacing but it’s a relatively simple and inexpensive job.
