A fantastic microphone that has barely been used. I bought it towards the end of lockdown and have since been working in a studio where they have one of these. The software that comes with it is great, you can get some very warm, rich tones with the two preamps, and the mic collection is super versatile. I’ve used it on everything from drums (overhead or kick out on the U67 setting) or female vocal, which is where it really shines – given that its default setting is very clean and transparent, the 251 emulation takes the vocal through the roof – you’ll barely have to do any EQ to get the vocal to sit right, just a little de-essing. I’ve had a client chose the vocal done on this over a real 251, which astounded me to be honest, but it’s just a more modern, clean sound that works for a lot of contemporary pop. Overall this microphone is really fun and versatile, and is a great addition to any studio in my opinion. It’s been well looked after in a smoke free environment. Will transfer the software after the sale.
