Broker sale: in very good condition and working order. Excellent example of this legendary synth with some very cool and tasteful mods. This is for sale on a brokerage basis – it’s been checked over and is working well. It has been serviced in the past by EMS Cornwall and has some historic mods that are beautifully executed. The owner is sending us copies of service reports and details of the mods. This is a rare chance to secure an original VCS3 in excellent condition. This is one of the most iconic and revered synths of all and is truly versatile: from Radiophonic Workshop (and Hawkwind) type bloops and bleeps, through Eno and Roxy Music and beyond. Tony uses his VCS-3 as much as an effects processor as synthesizer and has said it’s his favourite studio piece. We are often asked whether mods adversely affects the value of a VCS3. So, in short, in our view the answer is mods often add value/appeal rather than detract. These wonderful synths should be used rather than placed in glass cases. Condition: In very good condition with some minor scuffs and dings to the face. The case is very clean with wear and scuffs/scratches as you might expect. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for a meticulously maintained EMS VCS3 The Putney Mk1 Semi-Modular Synthesizer w/ DK1 Keyboard. The Cricklewood Keyboard w/Cable. 20 Patch Connector Pins. PHYSICAL CONDITION: Excellent- Super clean all around. Some of the black lettering on the front is spotty but everything is legible. Some of the knobs have very minor scuffs that one could only see upon close inspection. A few minor dings on the wood cabinet but nothing that catches the eye. Overall, the physical condition of this synth is excellent. WORKING CONDITION: Excellent – Maintained by a consummate professional. This synth is 100% original with no modifications or repairs. This synth is in excellent working condition. Lights and meter in perfect working order. All knobs and switches feel good. Patch bay and pins all in good shape.
