A specially-designed spider suspension is assembled with a proprietary resin and combines with the bumped backplate to improve the resistance against failure during intense use. The reinforced surround offers smooth accurate geometry during hard play, while a large 4” voice coil results in very high efficiency while providing smooth and accurate midbass response. Reduced power compression is achieved through the use of an aluminum voice coil that wicks heat away from the voice coil, which is then cooled via the vented pole piece. A bumped backplate protects the voice coil during over-excursion conditions. Extra thick and stiff, yet lightweight, this specific cone provides excellent frequency response, linear through 5.5 kHz, and makes the 12MR2000 a very good solution for high-quality 2 or 3-way systems and low mounting depth makes it perfect for stage monitors. The magnet assembly is attached to a sturdy reinforced cast aluminum frame completes the 12MR2000 to ensure a solid support structure, for long lasting play in most any environment. This can be done by tilting the cabinet back and setting the speaker in place. If the cabinet has bare wire leads, just wrap them around the solder lug connector on the back of the speaker to make the electrical connections. A friend can help hold the speaker in place while you listen to the new speaker.
