This is a DIY microphone that you can assemble yourself. It comes with holes pre-made in the tube and ears, and the microphones are a tight push fit into the ears. We now assemble the adapter nut for you and have added an extra hole for the wire to come out of the bottom of the microphone, it has a soft silicone rubber stop that can be swapped to the rear hole if you want to use the different hole for the wire exit. To assemble the microphone, simply push the connector jack through the ear, being sure NOT to pull on the wires. Fit one ear and then fit the last ear. The ears are a firm push fit into the tube and won’t fall out. The grommet is for the hole at the rear of the microphone, through which you should pass the mic wires before installing the grommet. It is a tight fit, but will go in. If you experience noise when connecting the microphone directly to a computer via the microphone input on your sound card, try running on battery power if you are using a laptop. Alternatively, you can use our USB adapter, which has stereo input and 24bit 48kHz capabilities. Please note that if you are plugging the microphone into a computer, the microphone input must be stereo or you will need to use the USB adapter for stereo recording. This microphone weighs about 450g and uses plug-in-power from your recorder, computer, or camera with a stereo microphone socket.
