The Suit and Tie Guy Oscillator is a 5U dotcom/moog format synthesiser module designed to provide musicians with a versatile and high-quality sound and modulation generation tool. The STG Soundlabs VCO is a compact 1MU analog oscillator module that stands out for its tuning and drift capabilities. It comes with the usual suspects – saw, triangle and sub-octave square waves – providing a solid foundation for creating a wide range of sounds. The included Drift Generator acts as a sophisticated generator of random bipolar linear functions, capable of varying both speed and amplitude while maintaining a seamless output, giving it a “vintage” character. Central to the STG VCO’s design is its tuning system, which uses steppable range and semitone knobs. This system allows precise control over pitch, facilitating the creation of complex melodies and evolving sonic landscapes. The Range knob not only controls pitch, but also allows the module to function as an LFO. The Wide mode further enhances this capability, offering sweeping octave shifts for dramatic transitions. Despite its slim profile, the. VCO does not compromise on functionality. Its straightforward, logical layout simplifies tuning experiments and makes it truly accessible. Whether used as an audio oscillator or an LFO, the. VCO offers a wide range of possibilities. This is a currently unavailable module as STG is busy with his “Vanilla Synthesiser” module.
