Both capsules come complete with the original vintage AKG black vinyl hardshell protective cases. The CK2 is the legendary true omnidirectional (pressure-type) capsule designed for AKG’s classic Condenser Modular System (CMS) & C451 microphone. Unlike directional capsules, the CK2 features a completely flat frequency response with absolutely zero proximity effect (bass boost when miking closely). It captures incredible low-end extension, open top-end air, and a perfectly natural room acoustic. It is widely considered one of the finest ambient, orchestral, and acoustic instrument capsules ever engineered. Clean finishes, flawless threads, no pitting, oxidation, or scratches. Diaphragms & Performance: Pristine. The diaphragms are perfectly clean, completely free of the typical dust contamination or moisture degradation common with vintage capsules. They perform identically with a beautifully balanced stereo image and incredibly low noise floor. Finding an original, matching pair of CK2’s is incredibly difficult.
